Rock Wall
A leftover from last week. This rock wall is probably a seasonal waterfall during wet periods. There is a
pool of water underneath that is not pictured. I'm always struck by the odd coloring of the rock in certain
parts of Alabama.  Canon Digital Rebel XT/EF-17-40/4L, 17mm, ISO-800, f/5.6, 1/60th.

Borden Creek
A quick snapshot from last week. I wanted to show the interesting color the water turns here in Alabama during winter and spring.
This is Borden Creek just a few hundred yards from the parking area. Canon Digital Rebel XT/EF-17-40/4L, 17mm, ISO-800, f/9, 1/160th.

Caney Falls
The first picture I took of Upper Caney Creek Falls today. This is my favorite waterfall in Alabama, and I was thrilled to discover that the side falls
was finally flowing due to the excellent rainfal we've been getting. Just above my head in this shot is the large, dead hemlock that is ruining most of the
other viewpoints. Canon Digital Rebel XT/EF-17-40/4L, 17mm, ISO-100, f/8, 1/2sec.

Caney Creek Falls
The polarizer use is somewhat spotty in these shots because it is really hard to turn behind the 17-40/4L lens hood. Canon Digital Rebel XT/EF-17-40/4L, 17mm, ISO-100, f/8, 1/2sec.

Tree
I poked around above Caney Creek Falls for a while. There were a lot of mossy trees. Canon Digital Rebel XT/EF-17-40/4L, 33mm, ISO-1600, f/4, 1/60th, popup flash.

Kinlock
Kinlock Falls. I really like the red streaks in the rocks in this area. There used to be a mill above the falls. I made the mistake of thinking that Scipio, wet and cold from our hike to Caney Creek Falls, wouldn't mind a short trip to Kinlock. He minded, and I had to leave without getting pictures of the interesting tributary waterfall I found across the canyon. Oh well, I was having trouble getting pictures even with an 8x ND. Kinlock
Kinlock is one of the larger (width and flow) waterfalls in Alabama. It is also one of the few reliably fast-flowing waterfalls. Canon Digital Rebel XT/EF-17-40/4L, 17mm, ISO-100, f/13, 1/2sec

Cliff
Kinlock Falls is at the head of a very steep canyon edged by Hemlocks. Here the punge pool smacks right up to the growing cliff. Canon Digital Rebel XT/EF-17-40/4L, 40mm, ISO-100, f/13, 4 sec
